Through the Eyes of The Ginger One: Burdies? Where?

Submitted by The Ginger One on Thursday, 29 January 2009No Comment

I want to go outside! Ugh I hate this time of year, so cold and bleak and the hooman staff keeps me inside ALL day! This has meant I’ve been forced to exhaust my pent up energy by dashing about like a kitling, up and down the stairs. I’ve gotten a knack for jumping on the sofa and usually sit like this or on the arm – this latter move is a hint to the staff that I desire to be petted and wish to stand on her lap for a few minutes.

Being a dim-witted hooman, my staff needs lots of training – she’s particularly bad at getting up to feed me. This has meant I’ve been having to rouse her promptly at 7:30am and she’s not a pretty sight. I let her go back to bed then evict her around nine; I need my beauty sleep and she snores. This is my favourite part of the morning as I get to sit on the windowsill and watch the hoomans taking their kitlings out and enjoy the heat from the radiator. It’s lovely and warm, especially when the sun occasionally comes out. *Purr*

The rest of the day is spent watching TV, prowling, demanding my dinner and occasionally playing with the hooman. she gets restless if I don’t give her some attention. Sometimes I stick my nose outside the door while the hooman is putting rubbish in the bins however it’s normally too wet for me to even put my whiskers outside. I hate the rain and the wet but I do get to see burdies and hoomans milling around; my favourite patch of grass has died back so I’d have nowhere to prowl and hide even if I did feel the urge to go outside. I can’t wait for the summer; I’ll curl up on the grass and purr loudly!

Speaking of burdies, I’m following one on Twitter and I want to dine on him for an evening snack! I don’t think I’m the only one either, there’s a herd of us virtually hunting the feathered creature. Actually, I have quite a few followers now, other kittehs and even a few doglets. Sadly they don’t talk to me much; my dog is terrible, I’m still trying to lean lolkitteh with passable success.

Yum … burdies.

Anyway, time for me to go …. the staff will be up any minute and … well, she really hates me sitting on her keyboard.
