The Chronicles of Ceridwen: Home is with your Hooman
Nice to meet you everyone, I’m Ceridwen (you can call me Ceri). I’m a perky, litteh black kitling (I’m on the right) and this is my mum (whom the carers call Amelia but the hooman toy is looking for a more suitable name). We’re successors to The Ginger One and about to move into our new home!
The hooman toy (although other kittehs tell me I’m supposed to address her as ’staff’) had a visit from our carers this morning to make sure her home is suitable for us. Penny told her a little more about us, for example the hooman toy hadn’t been told that Amelia was my mother. Now the other carers hadn’t bothered to mentioned this – and they had been asked directly – despite being in the same pen.
Mum’s very protective of me – she had me when she was six months old, the same age I am now. There were three of us, one kitling died, the other (my brother) went to a new home and I’m the last one left. People didn’t want me because my head is tilted and I’ve had this horrible ear infection but there’s nothing actually wrong with me. I like to play and explore, just like other kitlings my age.
Once the hooman toy realised our relationship though, she was forced to make a decision. Penny was worried that Mum wouldn’t cope well if I left and so recommended we both be homed together. However the hooman toy said she would takes us both if they really really needed us to be kept together though she would much rather just take me, She felt that it would be cruel to split us up given our ages and Mum’s past. Penny did say that given the right home, Mum should relax a little and become a lot happier, content and friendly. I hope so, she deserves a good life and I’m so glad she’s coming with me.
So Penny decided that the hooman toy had a perfect house; it’s quiet, in an enclosed estate with lots of other kittehs, the hooman toy has said she will get a cat flap for us and fence off the upstairs window so we don’t try jumping down to the ground, a la The Ginger One. She’s bought me a lovely collar and a harnass for when we go outside, just until we get used to it, and is picking up a scratching post tomorrow.
All we have to do now is wait for the Vetman to look at me tomorrow. I had a small operation on Tuesday to stop me having kitlings and if he says I’m well enough, well, we can go home!
I’m keen to pick up this blogging lark, I understand my predecessor enjoyed it. I’m not sure if Mum gets (or can be bothered with) Twitter though so I have a feeling I’ll be doing it for the both of us for now. I’m @ceridwenthecat and I’m looking for even more kitteh, doggeh, wol, burdie, horsey and other animal friends so please add me, okay?
I’ll let you know what the vetman says but cross your paws that we’ll be both coming home on Caturday!
UPDATE: Mum and I are moving out tomorrow. The hooman toy is coming to pick us up at midday! Yay!
Caturday… Love it!!! Will be pleased to meet you both
So excited for you … 8 more hours … and touched for your catmom. My catmom lives here with us, and it’s good … although she’s a tortie.
So awesome you guys got your home! Yay, Hi I am Pocket. My mom was just like your mom, her name was Mow Mow, and she found a hooman who took her in to have her kittens, she went to another home though.
However all of my brothers and sisters all live here with me! All of us have had the little operation too for no kittehs.
That is ok since we run the rescue center here and take care of all the babies as they come in.
So glad to read teh stories of after us. yay, Have fun inbestigating the house! Closets are fun!
