The Chronicles of Ceridwen: Two Kittehs, One Basket
*PURR* Don’t we look cute? This is, strictly speaking, Mama’s basket. She likes to hide and watch the hooman work but sometimes I go hunting for Mama milk and squish in there with her. The hooman thinks we look adorable, Mama just looks annoyed. She doesn’t like me treating her as a milk-producing machine but it tastes SO GOOD.
Our new home is fantastic. Mama has started coming out more and more. We have a system, you see. The hooman gets up around 9am, we swarm her as the first thing she does is feeds us. She gives us a pouch of nom each and while we eat, she goes into the water room. Mama returns to the bedroom and has a snooze in the sun while I chase moving sunbeams or climb on the hooman’s desk.
Mama might come out at lunchtime, if she’s peckish. she seems to prefer early evening when all is quiet. Now the days are warmer and the sun is out, the hooman toy opens the windows and sometimes goes outside, leaving the door open so I can look. I haven’t yet worked up the nerve to peek outside though and Mama, well she just doesn’t care about such things.
The hooman is feeding us well, we have wet nom, dry crunch nom and she came home with bags of turkeyz and not one but THREE tins of toona! Ah we live like the goddesses we are and it is wonderful.
Life for us is slowly falling into a happy rhythm as we settle in. It seems like we’ve been here forever but it’s only been six weeks! I like all the places to hide and climb, especially the window by the Forbidden Table (hooman pretends not to notice when I climb up there). When hooman is making her nom, I follow her and watch, stretching up to catch any crumbs which ‘might’ drop. She eats a lot of rice and chickenz, I like both. Mama is a bit more picky.
I’m rather pleased that Mama is adjusting as well. She used to run off when the hooman made a move to come and pet her. Now she lets her come over and stroke her, especially in the morning. She’s quicker to the nom bowl than I am! Anyway, enough of this typing lark, I’m off to bask in a sun patch.

The kitties have settled so well… I love when they twitter. I follow all 3 of you. I’m thinking of adopting a kitty someday soon. My tuxedo cat that I had for 13 years (from when she was a 5 week old kitteh!) passed almost 2 years ago. I’ve thought about getting another, but it is hard to bring in another to ‘replace’ her. Soon the local shelters will be overrun with small kittehs…. it is sad, but maybe I will see one who wants to come and make a forever home with me, the hubs, our corgi, and the horse!
