Living the Freelance Dream: The ‘Mama Isis is home’ edition

At first sight she looks awful, indeed Mama Isis feels so tiny. As I stroke her tiny, emaciated frame I can feel every bone in her body. When I sit at her level, she rubs her face against mine, marking me with her scent and it brings tears to my eyes. She is so tiny, so frail and yet she is still the cat I fell in love with.
Unfortunately, Ceri only sees and smells. Both of these senses are telling her this bedraggled creature is alien and it makes me so sad. This is her mother, the being who bore her, and she hisses at her on sight. I hope the pair of them will start talking soon though, they need to be friends.
I must admit I and the folks at the vet were all amazed at the speed of her recovery, even if the bill was higher than I guesstimated. She’s not back to normal, not by a long shot, but considering this time yesterday she was a very poorly kitteh, Mama Isis’ namesake must certainly be watching over her. Isis has been pottering around, using the kitteh litteh tray and eating the bland medical food I was given to feed her. She has let me hold and seems to enjoy it much more than she did before, which suits me just fine. I just hope Ceri won’t get jealous.
I’m going to be taking the weekend to watch over both of them and Mama Isis then has to go to my local vets on Monday for a check up. Hopefully she should continue to do well but keep your fingers, paws and talons crossed. Regardless, I’m so pleased my girls are reunited.
Kittehs-aside, this has been a hectic week. I’ve been working hard (it’s coming to the end of the month for Massively and WoW.com) and next week is going to be even busier thanks to E3 (which I’m covering remotely). I’m also really excited about the Aion beta which is taking place next weekend as I’m dying to play it. It is actually work but it’s going to be such fun!
